India Condemns Attacks on Commercial Vessels in Hormuz Strait

India has condemned the recent attacks on two commercial vessels in the Hormuz Strait, which led to the death of one Indian sailor and injuries to ten others. The Ministry of External Affairs has expressed serious concerns over these incidents and summoned an Iranian official to protest. With escalating tensions in the region, India is advocating for an immediate halt to violence and a return to diplomatic dialogue to resolve conflicts. This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by maritime navigation in international waters.
 

India's Strong Response to Maritime Attacks

On Tuesday, India expressed strong condemnation regarding the attacks on two commercial ships in the Hormuz Strait. These incidents resulted in the tragic death of an Indian national and left ten other Indian sailors injured. Following the attacks, the Ministry of External Affairs summoned a senior official from the Iranian embassy in Delhi to register its firm protest against these acts.


The Indian government has voiced significant concern over the assaults on the vessels MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa while they were transiting through the strait. According to information released by the Ministry of External Affairs, there were a total of 46 crew members aboard both ships, with 30 of them being Indian sailors.


The ministry reported that one of the 12 Indians on board MT Al Bahiyah lost their life, and another sailor sustained injuries. Meanwhile, on MT Mombasa, out of the 18 Indian crew members, nine were injured, with two in critical condition.


India has firmly criticized these attacks and the violence targeting sailors. The ministry emphasized that such actions, which hinder free and safe navigation in international waters, are unacceptable.


Furthermore, the Ministry of External Affairs expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions and wave of attacks in the West Asian region. India has strongly urged for an immediate cessation of violence and advocated for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve disputes in the interest of peace.
