Marking a Historic Milestone

Today, India celebrates the first anniversary of 'Operation Sindoor', a significant chapter in its military strength and national pride. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the nation's unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorism and its supporting networks.

Initiated on the morning of May 7 last year, 'Operation Sindoor' involved a series of precise air and missile strikes aimed at terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

Targeting Terrorist Camps

During this operation, the Indian Army targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, including those linked to banned organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Reports indicate that at least 100 terrorists were killed in these strikes. The confrontation concluded on May 10 following military-level discussions between Pakistan and India.

Prime Minister's Acknowledgment

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi praised the armed forces for demonstrating "unmatched courage, precision, and resolve" during the operation, emphasizing that it reflects India's tough stance against terrorism and its steadfast commitment to national security.

He noted that these attacks showcased the professional capabilities, preparedness, and coordinated strength of the armed forces, highlighting the benefits of increased synergy among various military branches and India's efforts towards self-reliance in the defense sector.

A Salute to Valor

The Prime Minister expressed that the nation honors the bravery of its armed forces and reiterated India's determination to defeat terrorism and dismantle the entire apparatus that supports it.

Social Media Tributes

To commemorate this day, PM Modi and several other leaders from the NDA changed their social media profile pictures to feature the logo of 'Operation Sindoor'.

'Operation Sindoor' was perceived as a strong message against cross-border terrorism; at that time, PM Modi stated that India would not tolerate any form of "nuclear blackmail" from Pakistan.

Following this operation, the Indian armed forces began to enhance their combat readiness, focusing particularly on drone technology, missile systems, surveillance techniques, and AI-based warfare capabilities.
