Celebrating 80 Years of Independence


In a grand ceremony at the iconic Red Fort, New Delhi, the nation marked its 80th Independence Day, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising the national flag and delivering a heartfelt address to the citizens.


The event commenced with a ceremonial Guard of Honour and a 21-gun salute, followed by a spectacular display of helicopters showering flower petals over the historic site. The gathering included thousands of attendees, such as families of freedom fighters, artisans, students, and NCC cadets.



This year's celebrations held particular importance under the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047”, which underscores the pivotal role of the youth in driving the nation towards development. Notably, Vande Mataram was performed live to commemorate its 150th anniversary, and the Prime Minister's address was translated into 22 Indian languages in real-time using advanced AI technology.


In his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted themes of unity, progress, and India's advancements in defense, digital technology, and infrastructure. He urged citizens to unite in their efforts to realize the vision of a developed India by the year 2047.


Throughout Delhi, various landmarks were illuminated in the colors of the national flag—saffron, white, and green. Schools and local communities organized patriotic events, parades, and cultural performances. Security measures were robust, with thousands of personnel deployed to ensure the celebrations proceeded smoothly.
