Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Dilip Mahadu Gavit, who secured a gold medal, and silver medallists Mohammed Basil Morssinganakth and Murali Sreeshankar for their remarkable achievements at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. On Day 7 of the event, para-athlete Gavit made history by clocking a record time of 10.71 seconds, earning him the gold medal. Basil followed closely, finishing in 10.83 seconds to take home the silver, while England's Kevin Santos claimed bronze with a time of 10.85 seconds, resulting in a memorable podium sweep for India in the para-athletics sprint category.

Sreeshankar's Silver Medal Achievement

Murali Sreeshankar also delivered an impressive performance, achieving a best leap of 8.09m to secure the silver medal in the long jump, finishing behind Jamaica's Tajay Gayle, who won gold with a leap of 8.15m. Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie took bronze with a jump of 8.08m. PM Modi praised Sreeshankar's outstanding performance, stating that his achievement would inspire young athletes.
