Sepaktakraw Team Wins Bronze
India's sepaktakraw team had a reason to celebrate as they clinched a bronze medal during the Asian Games 2026. The men's team, consisting of Malemnganba Singh Sorokhaibam, Ram Kumar Sharma, Bobby Kumar, and Akash Yumnam, faced Japan in the semifinals, where they lost with a score of 0-2 (12-15, 13-15). This achievement marks India's third medal in sepaktakraw at the Asian Games, following two previous bronze medals: one in the men's team regu in Jakarta 2018 and another in the women's team regu event in 2022.
The Indian team had a remarkable journey, defeating the World Cup champions Myanmar in the group stage, ensuring they returned home with a medal. This victory contributes to India's overall tally of 72 medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which includes 12 golds, 25 silvers, and 34 bronzes.
Historic Gold for Women's Recurve Archery Team
In a remarkable turn of events, the Indian women's recurve archery team achieved a historic victory by defeating South Korea 5-3 in the gold medal match. This win marks India's first-ever gold medal in this discipline at the Asian Games. The team, comprising Kumkum Mohod, Ankita Bhakat, and Kirti Sharma, showcased exceptional skill, with 17-year-old Kumkum playing a pivotal role by scoring two crucial 10s in the final moments.

In the mixed recurve archery team event, Kumkum Mohod and Dhiraj Bommadevara secured a silver medal after a close match against China's Zhu Jingyi and Li Mengqi, ending with a score of 3-5.

Sailor Nethra Kumanan added to India's medal tally by securing a bronze in the women's dinghy event.
