India Secures Double Podium in Men's Triple Jump

On Saturday, Indian athletes Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran achieved remarkable success by winning silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the men's triple jump at the Commonwealth Games 2026. Chithravel's best jump of 16.58 meters on his fourth attempt earned him the silver medal, while Selva Prabhu's top leap of 16.52 meters secured him the bronze.

Initially, Chithravel was in fifth place after the first three rounds, with a jump of 16.05 meters on his opening attempt. He improved to 16.31 meters in the third round before his impressive 16.58-meter leap in the fourth round, which briefly placed him in the lead.

Selva Prabhu climbed to the bronze medal position with a jump of 16.17 meters in his second attempt. He further improved to 16.43 meters in the third round, ultimately finishing with a best jump of 16.52 meters.

This double podium finish highlights India's strong performance in athletics at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

Jaismine Lamboria Strikes Gold in Boxing

In another outstanding achievement, Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria clinched the gold medal in the women's 57kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2026. She triumphed over reigning champion Michaela Walsh with a unanimous decision of 5-0 in the final on Saturday. Jaismine's victory marked India's second boxing gold of the day, following Preeti Pawar's win in the women's 54kg category. This win also signifies India's consecutive gold medal in boxing at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
