On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed a 15-member squad for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia expressed optimism regarding the team's selection, emphasizing its strength and readiness. He noted that the pre-tournament matches in England will aid players in acclimatizing to the conditions, and he believes that the confidence gained from last year's World Cup victory will foster a positive mindset and a winning mentality.
Following their recent success in the 50-over World Cup, India aims to maintain their momentum and pursue additional accolades at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to commence on June 12.

Saikia stated, "We have assembled a robust team. We anticipate they will perform exceptionally well. The matches leading up to the World Cup will ensure the Indian team is fully acclimatized to English conditions. With the confidence from last year's World Cup victory, they will approach the tournament with a positive mindset. Experiencing success is crucial, as winning should become a habit."
World Cup Schedule and Group Information
India's campaign will commence on June 14 against Pakistan, as they are placed in Group A alongside Australia, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
Additionally, India will have a chance to refine their preparations for the Women's World Cup with a three-match T20I series against England from May 28 to June 2.
