India A Team's Arrival in England

The India A squad, led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, has landed in England ahead of their series against the England Lions. The first match is scheduled to kick off on May 30 in Canterbury, followed by the second match on June 6 in Northampton. These two red-ball games will take place before India's five-match Test series in England.

Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande shared a photo with teammates Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tanush Kotian, Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and captain Abhimanyu, captioning it as 'Work Crew.' Abhimanyu Easwaran, a seasoned player for Bengal in domestic cricket, will lead the team. He has an impressive record of 7,674 runs at an average of 48.87 from 101 first-class matches, including 27 centuries and 29 half-centuries. However, he had a disappointing performance against Australia last year, scoring only 36 runs across four innings.

The squad also includes Karun Nair, while Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are expected to join the team before the second match. Additionally, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who were part of the Australia Test tour, have been included in the India A lineup. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shardul Thakur are also part of the traveling squad. Left-arm fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj have made the cut, along with wicketkeepers Ishan Kishan and Dhruv Jurel, rounding out the 18-member team.
