Moreover, 219 Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) were signed, reflecting a 25.86% increase from the previous year. Ravi Agarwal emphasized that actions in the current financial year (2026-27) should be data-driven, proportional, fair, and aimed at creating an efficient tax system. He stressed the importance of strengthening data analytics and intelligence-driven methods.
With the year 2026 being significant, he noted that the new Income Tax Act of 2025 and Income Tax Rules of 2026 are set to be implemented. These changes are expected to simplify compliance and make tax administration more transparent and data-driven. This achievement is positive news for taxpayers, as it indicates quicker dispute resolutions and reduced uncertainty.
