New Delhi, July 18: A dramatic scene unfolded at Jantar Mantar on Saturday afternoon when a woman reportedly threw a liquid resembling ink at Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), during his speech to a gathering.

This incident caused a brief disruption as supporters rushed to the stage, creating a chaotic atmosphere.

The identity and intentions of the woman remain unclear at this time. However, police have confirmed her detention and stated that an investigation is currently in progress.

This incident occurred amidst ongoing discussions regarding Wangchuk's hospitalization following his extended hunger strike.

In related news, Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, clarified that the Delhi High Court had not mandated his hospital admission but had only instructed for regular health monitoring.

During a press conference on Saturday, Angmo expressed concerns that no actual treatment was being provided, with only observations and medical tests taking place.

She mentioned that the family intends to conduct tests at an external laboratory, alleging that they had not received the requested medical reports.

"Currently, there is no treatment being administered. Only observations and tests are happening, and we plan to get the tests done externally," she stated.

Angmo also noted that doctors who assessed Wangchuk on Friday evening reported his vital signs as normal.

She challenged the hospital's claim regarding his potassium levels being dangerously low, stating that the family had requested the reports but had not yet received them.

"I appreciate the government's efforts to bring him here, but we will manage the next steps independently; government involvement is unnecessary in this situation," she added.

Despite experiencing weakness and muscle loss from the extended fast, Wangchuk remains alert and mentally resilient, according to Angmo.

She confirmed that the planned march would take place on July 20, regardless of Wangchuk's ability to attend.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police reported that doctors found Wangchuk weak and exhibiting signs of dehydration due to his prolonged fasting.

As per the latest police update, he is under observation and undergoing additional medical tests with expert supervision.

In an official statement, police indicated that Wangchuk was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday after doctors, during a routine health check ordered by the Delhi High Court, recommended hospitalization due to his declining health.

The conflicting statements from Wangchuk's family and the police have heightened the uncertainty regarding the activist's health, even as protests at Jantar Mantar persist.
