The situation escalated to a 'Code Red' alert, but the student fled the scene and was later apprehended without any injuries reported. The lockdown was lifted shortly after, allowing students to gather outside the school. This event raises concerns about safety in schools and the measures taken by authorities in such situations.
 

Police Response to Hillgrove High School Incident


Authorities confirmed that police were called to Hillgrove High School in Cobb County on Tuesday afternoon. The Cobb County Police Department (CCPD) reported that officers were sent to support the Cobb County School District Police during the unfolding situation. According to information from local sources, a student was seen with a weapon in the cafeteria, which led to a "Code Red" lockdown being initiated. The student reportedly left the premises but was subsequently caught by law enforcement. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries. The lockdown was eventually lifted and changed to a “Code Green” around 12:15 PM. Aerial footage captured by local news showed students congregating outside the main entrance around 12:50 PM. For further inquiries, Cobb County Police and the Cobb Sheriff’s Office directed questions to the school district and its police department.
