Inauguration of Tissa Sub-Market Enhances Local Agriculture in Himachal Pradesh

Tissa Sub-Market Opens to Support Local Farmers

Today, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, virtually inaugurated the newly built Tissa Sub-Market. This facility, which cost ₹59 lakh to construct, features six shops along with a cold storage unit.


During his virtual address, the Speaker extended his congratulations to the farmers and horticulturists in the Tissa area for the opening of the sub-market. He emphasized that Tissa is renowned for its flowers, fruits, and off-season vegetables. Pathania expressed optimism that this new mandi will help farmers save both time and money by reducing the need to travel outside the region to sell their goods, while also ensuring they receive fair prices for their produce.


Government's Support for Agriculture APMC Chamba Chairman Lalit Thakur remarked that under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's leadership, the state government has implemented numerous initiatives aimed at benefiting farmers. He noted that Himachal Pradesh is the first state in India to offer support prices for natural maize, wheat, barley, and turmeric, encouraging farmers to embrace natural farming methods to take advantage of these programs.


Event Attendees The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including APMC Chamba Chairman Lalit Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Haj Committee Chairman Dildar Ali Batt, former Congress candidate from Churah Yashwant Khanna, Zila Parishad member Nirmala Bhutani, Agriculture Department Deputy Director Bhupendra Kumar, and various APMC members. The event also saw participation from local farmers and horticulturists from the subdivision.
