Manipur Police Museum Unveiled by Chief Minister
On Friday, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand inaugurated the State Police Museum at the First Manipur Rifles Battalion premises, marking a significant achievement in the history of the local police force. The event was attended by Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh along with senior police officials and personnel from the state. This museum has been established to preserve and showcase the rich heritage, development, and service history of the Manipur Police. It features an impressive collection of ancient firearms, historical police uniforms, rare photographs, archival records, and other valuable artifacts that reflect the journey of the force over the years.

Among the displayed items are artifacts from the time when the force was known as the State Military Police. The museum also showcases pistols, weapons, and other equipment used during World War II, providing visitors with a glimpse into the state's historical and security heritage. Later, in a post, Chief Minister Khemchand described this development as a proud achievement in preserving the state's policing heritage for future generations. "I am honored to inaugurate the Manipur Police Museum today at the First MR Battalion premises, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Rajiv Singh and senior police officials. This museum safeguards the rich history, heritage, and development of the Manipur Police through rare artifacts, historical records, photographs, and uniforms. It is a proud step towards securing our policing heritage for future generations," he stated.
