Constitution Literature Garden Unveiled

On Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the 'Constitution Literature Garden' in Moradabad, emphasizing that this venue will inspire future generations to comprehend their constitutional duties and responsibilities.

Located in the Buddhi Vihar Phase Two area, the garden spans two acres and has been developed at a cost exceeding ₹15 crores. It combines art, culture, and civic education, showcasing India's constitutional values through sculptures and murals.

Birla remarked, "The upcoming generation will learn to cherish democracy through the Constitution Literature Garden." He described the day as historic for Moradabad, highlighting that the garden will serve as a source of inspiration for citizens, particularly the youth.

He added, "India's culture, literature, and heritage continue to inspire us. Writers and thinkers from Moradabad have significantly contributed to the national discourse through their creative works."

The Speaker noted that the garden reflects the core principles of the Constitution—democracy, justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Local craftsmanship in stone and metal carvings brings these narratives to life. Statues and murals of key constitutional framers like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Jawaharlal Nehru have been installed, along with plaques and QR codes providing in-depth information about their lives and contributions.

A unique aspect of the garden is its architectural design, which blends traditional Indian motifs such as lattice work, arches, and symbols like the banyan tree with contemporary elements, creating a vibrant museum-like atmosphere.

Part of the garden is dedicated to India's literary heritage, featuring murals of renowned authors like Mahadevi Verma, Harishankar Parsai, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and Girish Karnad. The eleven classical languages of India are represented through themed trees and murals. Local literary figures such as Jigar Moradabadi, Durga Datt Tripathi, and Mansoor Usmani also hold special significance here. To enhance engagement, especially for women, a book café has been established, featuring a collection of famous literary works.
