IMD Weather LIVE Updates: The Indian subcontinent is anticipated to experience an early arrival of the Southwest Monsoon in 2025. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding significant weather changes expected in the upcoming days. Rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, is predicted to affect several regions next week.
Currently, India is experiencing a mix of weather conditions, with southern states receiving rain while northern states are facing heat waves. The IMD has forecasted isolated heavy rainfall for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya from May 17 to 21; Tripura on May 17 and 18; Karnataka on May 19 and 30; Kerala and Mahe from May 17 to 22; Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Interior Karnataka from May 17 to 20; Lakshadweep on May 20; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on May 17; and Rayalaseema on May 19 and 20.
Conversely, heat wave conditions are likely to occur in isolated areas of Jammu & Kashmir on May 17 and 18; Southwest Uttar Pradesh on May 17; West Rajasthan from May 17 to 22; and North Madhya Pradesh on May 18 and 19. Additionally, hot and humid weather is expected in Bihar and Odisha on May 16 and 17.
