Incident in North-East Delhi

On Friday afternoon, a man reportedly attacked his wife with a knife following a dispute in the Brahmapuri area of North-East Delhi, according to police reports.

The incident came to light when the police at New Usmanpur station received information about a woman being admitted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital with knife injuries.

A senior police official stated, 'A team promptly arrived at the hospital, where the victim informed them that her husband had assaulted her.' Initial investigations revealed that the woman had been living with her parents in Brahmapuri due to ongoing marital issues with her husband.

The police officer further explained that the husband visited his wife on Friday, and during their conversation, an argument ensued, leading him to allegedly stab her in a fit of rage.

Authorities confirmed that the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. Meanwhile, the crime team and forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene.

The police have registered a case under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant provisions of the Arms Act at the New Usmanpur police station.

They also reported that the accused was apprehended shortly after the incident, and the knife used in the attack has been recovered. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
