Harmanpreet Kaur's father, Harmandar Singh Bhullar, expressed immense pride following the Indian women's cricket team's historic victory over England by 270 runs in their inaugural Test match at Lord's. He highlighted the players' exceptional performance across all aspects of the game, which brought honor to the nation.


In response to this significant achievement at the renowned London venue, Bhullar acknowledged the team's collective effort and expressed gratitude to the Almighty for his daughter's success. "Winning by such a large margin fills us with joy. We are deeply thankful to Waheguru for guiding our daughter to this milestone. The entire team showcased remarkable batting, fielding, and bowling skills, bringing glory to our country with this Test match victory," he stated.

The Indian women's team delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a commanding 270-run victory over England, thus preserving their unbeaten record in Women's Tests on English soil. This win also enhanced India's overall record to seven victories, three draws, and only one loss in their last 11 Tests.


Match Highlights: An All-Round Performance

Throughout the one-off match, India maintained dominance, scoring 285 in their first innings and bowling England out for 170, securing a vital 115-run lead. Key contributions came from Harmanpreet with a steady 58, Smriti Mandhana with 83, and Deepti Sharma with 57.


In the second innings, India further solidified their position as Yastika Bhatia made history by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord's. Her remarkable century, along with Smriti Mandhana's 70 and an unbeaten 50 from Richa Ghosh, allowed India to declare at 341/7, setting England a challenging target of 457.


England's chase faltered as debutant pacer Kranti Gaud, who took five wickets in the first innings, and Deepti Sharma dismantled their batting order. Deepti claimed four wickets in the second innings, leading to England's total of 186 on the fourth day.

This victory holds additional historical significance, occurring exactly 24 years after former men's captain Sourav Ganguly's iconic shirt-waving celebration at Lord's, following India's NatWest Trophy win over England on July 13, 2002.
