In the Pangi tribal area of Chamba district, the upcoming Panchayati Raj Elections in 2026 will feature voting at the highest polling station in the district, situated in Chask Bhatori, which stands at an impressive altitude of nearly 4,500 meters above sea level.

This polling station, part of the Gram Panchayat Sechu, is set to cater to 98 registered voters from 19 families, comprising 57 men and 41 women.

Chask Bhatori is located approximately 45 kilometers from the valley's administrative center in Killar. While there are bus services connecting Killar to Chask, the final leg of the journey to Bhatori necessitates a six-kilometer trek on foot.

Despite the daunting challenges posed by the high altitude and the potential for unpredictable snowfall, both election officials and local residents are well-prepared to facilitate a smooth electoral process.
