This remarkable achievement marks Yasser as the first boxer from Jammu and Kashmir to secure gold at such a prestigious Asian-level event, earning widespread acclaim throughout the region.

Upon his return, Yasser and his coach, Ishtiyaq Malik, were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome from locals, sports fans, and supporters. We have very good athletes and cricketers here, but no one had ever heard the name of boxing before today."

He added, "I'd say that even an Olympic medalist doesn't get such a welcome as was done for Yasser. He stated, "The important role has been played by the Khelo India scheme. Yasser and I met through Khelo India, and after that, the officials, people, and officers all provided kits to us through Khelo India. Yasser received continuous counseling, due to which he became physically strong."
