Significant Changes in NITI Aayog
A pivotal decision by the Prime Minister has ushered in a new and historic chapter for the country's premier policy-making body, NITI Aayog. The government has appointed two new full-time members to this influential institution: Dr. R. Balasubramanian and Dr. Joram Aniya. Notably, Dr. Joram Aniya's appointment has garnered special attention.
Dr. Joram Aniya's rise to NITI Aayog marks a significant milestone. She is the first woman from the Nishii community to earn a PhD, and notably, she is also the first woman from Arunachal Pradesh to achieve a PhD in Hindi. This accomplishment reflects her deep commitment and dedication to education. Taking on the role of a full-time member of NITI Aayog from a state renowned for its unique cultural heritage is a proud moment for the entire northeastern region of India.
Ground Experience to Shape Policies
Policies cannot merely be crafted in offices; understanding ground realities is crucial for their effectiveness. Dr. Aniya brings over 18 years of substantial experience in education, research, and public policy. She has been a skilled educator and an associate professor. Additionally, as a member of the Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Regulatory Commission, she has played a vital administrative and reformative role in the state's education system. Her extensive ground experience will now contribute to policy-making at the national level, potentially providing a new and practical direction to NITI Aayog's vision.
