The Himalyan Public Senior Secondary School marked International Yoga Day with a vibrant and motivational event that infused the campus with a sense of health, discipline, and positivity.
The celebration kicked off with a morning assembly, where students from Classes VI to XII, along with their teachers, actively participated. The school grounds were adorned with colorful posters, slogans, and messages promoting yoga, creating an energetic and awareness-filled environment.
A standout feature of the event was a group yoga session led by qualified yoga instructors. Students engaged in various postures including Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, among others. Breathing techniques such as Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari, and meditation were also part of the session. Even the youngest participants from Classes I to V showcased their commitment and discipline in practicing yoga, demonstrating their dedication to a healthier lifestyle.
During his speech, School Director Anurag Gupta highlighted yoga as a valuable aspect of India’s cultural heritage, presenting a pathway to healthier living for the global community. He encouraged students to limit their screen time and allocate at least 30 minutes each day to yoga and meditation. He pointed out that yoga not only enhances physical strength but also fosters discipline, patience, and self-confidence.
The event wrapped up with a collective commitment from both students and teachers to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and promote its advantages within their families and communities. This celebration was truly inspirational, educational, and memorable, conveying a strong message about leading a balanced and healthy life.
