Himachal Pradesh Youth Federation Calls for Rescheduling HPAS Prelims Due to UGC-NET Conflict
Urgent Appeal from Youth Federation
Dharamshala: Shrey Awasthi, the State Convenor of the Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Federation, has formally requested the Himachal Pradesh Government to reconsider the scheduled date for the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) Preliminary Examination, which is set for June 29.
Awasthi raised a significant issue regarding the overlap of the HPAS Prelims with the UGC-NET JRF examination, which affects numerous candidates. He stated, “After extensive preparation, candidates are compelled to choose between two crucial exams occurring on the same day. This situation is not only unfortunate but also unjust.”
He pointed out that while the UGC-NET JRF exam is a national event and cannot be easily rescheduled, the HPAS Preliminary exam is specific to Himachal Pradesh and could be postponed to ensure fairness.
Awasthi praised the state government for its recent decision to provide a two-year age relaxation for candidates, expressing hope that the government would similarly respond to this scheduling conflict. “We trust that the government, which has shown sensitivity to youth issues, will also take action to reschedule the HPAS exam, safeguarding the futures of committed candidates,” he remarked.
In closing, Awasthi urged the government to act promptly and support the youth of Himachal in their quest for a brighter future.
