Today, the Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association (HAPUTWA) presented a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh, outlining significant issues concerning faculty welfare.

Dr. Nitin Vyas, the President of the Association, expressed that the state government has not approved Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotions for college and university educators for the last three years, causing significant dissatisfaction among the teaching staff. He pointed out that while other government sectors are receiving promotions, it is unfair to exclude educators from this process.

The memorandum further urged for the prompt reinstatement of CAS promotions, the establishment of two housing complexes for faculty members, and the disbursement of the outstanding 13% Dearness Allowance (DA).
