Elections Announced for Urban Local Bodies in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla - The State Election Commission has officially announced the upcoming elections for 51 Urban Local Bodies throughout Himachal Pradesh. This includes 4 Municipal Corporations (Dharamshala, Palampur, Mandi, and Solan), along with 25 Municipal Councils and 22 Nagar Panchayats. Voting is set to take place on May 17, 2026, with polls closing at 3:00 PM.

Nomination Filing: April 29, April 30, and May 2

Scrutiny of Nominations: May 4

Withdrawal of Nominations: Until May 6

Polling: May 17 (until 3:00 PM)

Election results will be announced on May 31, 2026.

The Commission has indicated that Panchayat elections for rural areas will be organized separately, with dates yet to be determined.
