Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, revealed plans to transfer the management of link roads built by the Rural Development Department to the Public Works Department (PWD). This initiative aims to enhance maintenance and ensure year-round accessibility.

During a public event where he performed the bhoomi pujan for the Samleta–Khaddi link road, which is set to cost around ₹90 lakh in the Gram Panchayat Baily, he emphasized the importance of this transition.

Pathania pointed out the significant damage that rural and ambulance routes suffer during the monsoon season due to natural disasters. He believes that by placing these roads under the PWD's care, their quality and maintenance will improve, leading to more reliable connectivity for residents.

He praised Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's leadership, noting that the state government has made landmark decisions for public welfare, including vital updates to the disaster relief manual. Pathania stressed the government's commitment to sensitive and welfare-focused policies, with a strong emphasis on social security.

In terms of education, Pathania highlighted that Himachal Pradesh now ranks fifth in the country for educational standards. He mentioned the state's responsibility for over 6,000 orphaned children, ensuring their education, safety, and overall growth.

Recognizing the contributions of various governments to the state's advancement, he acknowledged that despite political changes every five years, Congress administrations have notably influenced Himachal Pradesh's development trajectory.

Pathania assured the local Panchayat that their requests outlined in a memorandum would be addressed, promising prompt initiation of upgrades and maintenance for the Kihar link road. He also announced plans for construction projects aimed at connecting remote villages like Bhotan and Rakhed in the Bhatiyat constituency.

During the gathering, Pathania took the time to listen to public concerns and resolved several issues on the spot.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Chela Krishan Chand (Member, State Forest Corporation Board), Rakesh Kumar (Chief Conservator of Forests), Anil Bhardwaj (SDM), Mayank Sharma (DSP), Rajneesh Mahajan (Divisional Forest Officer), Anil Gurada (Block Development Officer), Rakesh Thakur (Executive Engineer), Pankaj Rathour, Narendra Chaudhary, and local Panchayat Pradhan Captain Jaisi Ram, along with officials from multiple departments.
