Celebrating Tradition at the International Minjar Fair

Today, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, graced the International Minjar Fair–2026 as the chief guest for the traditional wrestling events. Local MLA Neeraj Nayyir was also in attendance.

The Speaker kicked off several matches, engaging with the young wrestlers and offering them words of encouragement.

This year marked the inaugural Kodi competition at the Minjar Fair. The champions, Chamunda Mata Club Samra, received ₹31,000 and trophies, while the runners-up, Suraj Kumar and team, were awarded ₹21,000. Teams that reached the semi-finals and quarter-finals were also recognized with prizes.

During the event, the Speaker was honored by members of the District Wrestling Association.

The gathering included notable figures such as former MLA Surender Bhardwaj, APMC Chairman Lalit Thakur, District Congress President Surjeet Bharmauri, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal, Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani, and Chamba Congress Committee President Om Prakash. Many officials, dignitaries, and sports fans were present to witness the festivities.
