Support for PWD Minister's Efforts

On Friday, Rohit Thakur, the Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, expressed strong support for Vikramaditya Singh, the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister, commending his efforts over the past three years. Speaking to the media in Shimla, Thakur urged Chief Minister Sukhu to address the issues raised by Singh regarding officials' performance.

Thakur highlighted Singh's effectiveness as a minister during his tenure, stating that his concerns about officials should be resolved through discussions at the Chief Minister's level.

Addressing Concerns About Officials

Thakur reiterated his previous statements on the matter, emphasizing that both state and central officials, including those from the All India Services, have significantly contributed to the development of Himachal Pradesh. He noted that negative attitudes can be found among officials both within and outside the state, and such generalizations should be avoided.

In support of Singh's remarks, Thakur acknowledged that there are indeed officials who create challenges, regardless of their service background. He affirmed that Singh, as a young minister, has had a productive term, and any concerns raised should be clarified by the Chief Minister to prevent escalation.

Educational Initiatives for Special Needs Children

Earlier in the day, Thakur flagged off a special educational trip for 96 children with special needs from Shimla. This five-day educational journey, organized by the Department of School Education, will take the students to Amritsar. Thakur mentioned that these children, hailing from various districts of the state, are part of initiatives aimed at familiarizing them with education. Similar programs have been conducted in the past, reflecting the commitment to ensure that special needs children do not fall behind in their studies.
