In a significant meeting focused on revenue issues, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu convened a high-level discussion today. The meeting included Principal Advisor to the CM Ram Subhag Singh, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, and senior officials, with Deputy Commissioners from all districts participating virtually.

Starting January 5, 2026, the Chief Minister has mandated that all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars will conduct hearings for land partition (Taksim) cases every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, totaling 12 hearing days each month. Deputy Commissioners are tasked with reviewing the progress every Saturday and must submit reports to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue). Furthermore, the Revenue Secretary is required to provide a comprehensive update to Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi every Monday, who will then inform the Chief Minister on the last Monday of each month.

Additionally, Sukhu has directed the Revenue Department to gather thorough information regarding private, forest, and government lands within the state, as well as details on pending cases in revenue courts, organized by type and duration. He emphasized the importance of resolving these cases in a timely manner, setting a deadline for all pending correction-related revenue cases to be resolved by March 31, 2026.

To expedite the process, the Chief Minister has called for the re-engagement of retired Patwaris, Kanungos, Naib Tehsildars, and Tehsildars, while also highlighting the need for adequate training for all officers and staff involved.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi contributed valuable suggestions aimed at ensuring the prompt resolution of cases. It was reported that since October 2023, under the Revenue Lok Adalats initiative, a total of 424,368 mutation cases, 25,918 land partition cases, 47,075 demarcation cases, and 12,896 correction cases have been successfully resolved throughout Himachal Pradesh.
