Interactive Meeting in Bhatiyat

Subhash Mahajan, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, convened an interactive session today with newly elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj at the Block Development Office auditorium in Bhatiyat.

During this meeting, he engaged with Gram Panchayat Pradhans, Up-Pradhans, and BDC members to discuss critical topics related to rural development, governance, and public welfare. Pathania encouraged these leaders to pinpoint essential development needs in their areas and collaborate with various departments to expedite progress. He highlighted the crucial role that Panchayat leaders play in tackling grassroots issues and fostering rural advancement.

Emphasizing the need for unbiased service, Pathania urged representatives to transcend political affiliations and concentrate on the real needs of their communities. He asserted that the successful execution of government initiatives must guarantee that benefits reach the most disadvantaged groups.

Pathania remarked that Bhatiyat stands as the second-largest development block in Himachal Pradesh, encompassing 71 Gram Panchayats. He noted that this block has excelled in Chamba district regarding the effective implementation of rural development programs, showcasing ongoing efforts for community betterment.

He also addressed outstanding financial obligations under MGNREGA, limited funding from the 16th Finance Commission, and employment initiatives linked to the Viksit Bharat – Gramin Rozgar Evam Aajeevika Mission.

Amit Mehra, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among representatives, officials, and the public to ensure prompt resolution of community issues. Block Development Officer Anil Gurada provided a comprehensive report on the progress of current schemes.

The meeting saw participation from various officials, including State Cooperative Bank Director Rajkumar Chambiyal, Panchayat Samiti President Lalchand, SDM Manish Soni, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Narendra Chaudhary, and other Panchayati Raj representatives.
