Today, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, engaged in discussions with BPL families identified through a survey conducted by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department at Ambedkar Bhawan, Chuwari.

Pathania stressed that the state government prioritizes ensuring that welfare initiatives effectively reach families genuinely living below the poverty line. He pointed out that the BPL selection process has been made transparent and efficient through an eight-phase survey, guaranteeing that only deserving families are recognized.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the government is dedicated to social security and welfare, focusing on assisting families lacking housing, education, healthcare, pensions, and other essential services due to financial struggles.

Addressing previous concerns regarding ineligible families being included in BPL lists while deserving ones were overlooked, Pathania assured that the new survey promotes fairness and transparency. He mentioned that cases of deserving families who were excluded can still be reviewed if they meet the eligibility criteria.

The Speaker encouraged beneficiaries to actively engage with government welfare programs and reassured them of the government’s commitment to public welfare beyond political affiliations. He also addressed various issues raised by attendees during the program, resolving many on the spot.

Earlier, SDM Manish Soni welcomed the Speaker and provided insights into the BPL selection process and welfare initiatives. BDO Anil Gurada also contributed key information regarding the Bhatiyat block.

The event was attended by officials including Chela Krishan Chand (State Forest Corporation Board Member), Vijay Kanwar (Block Congress Committee President), Surender Chadak (Vice President, Nagar Panchayat), Dr. Shamlal (Block Medical Officer), Pankaj Rathour (Executive Engineer), Rakesh Thakur, Narendra Chaudhary, Aarti Devi (Tehsil Welfare Officer), and Dharmveer (Child Development Project Officer), along with representatives from Panchayati Raj.

Beneficiaries from various Gram Panchayats such as Nainikhad, Balera, Tunuhatti, Kakira-Jarei, Kakira-Kasba, Kharera, Gadana, Ghatasni, Chalama, Taragarh, Kuddi, Avanh, Hobar, Jatrun, Parchhod, Sadhal, Banet, Raipur, Jandroag, Turkda, Parsiyara, Malunda, Kahri, Gahar, and Kudnu participated in the dialogue program.
