In a recent press conference, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched a fierce critique against the BJP, asserting that the party is fragmented into five distinct factions. He claimed that these internal rifts have overshadowed critical discussions about the state's development.

Sukhu specifically called out Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, questioning the BJP's political strategy and its chances of regaining power.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the BJP's internal divisions are so pronounced that many of its leaders fail to recognize the progress made by the state government.

He noted, 'While Shanta Kumar and Anil Sharma commend our efforts, the five factions remain mute.'

Sukhu highlighted the contrast between the positive remarks from senior BJP figures like Shanta Kumar and Anil Sharma and the silence from other factions within the party regarding his government's achievements.

He suggested that factionalism within the BJP is hindering its leaders from acknowledging developmental initiatives, even when some are willing to praise them.

Sukhu's comments were a direct jab at the BJP's internal politics, portraying the opposition as more focused on factional rivalries than on recognizing the government's accomplishments.

Sukhu also took aim at Jairam Thakur, labeling him as 'khajjal' and accusing him of consistently attacking him to maintain his political relevance in Delhi.

He alleged that Thakur frequently issues statements against him and sends press releases based on those attacks to the party leadership.

The Chief Minister further questioned the BJP's commitment to Himachal Pradesh, claiming its leaders have not engaged in a sustained political effort to advocate for the state's interests.

Sukhu's sharpest remarks were directed at Harsh Mahajan, referencing Mahajan's previous role as an adviser to former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, suggesting that his presence in the BJP would hinder the party's chances of returning to power.

He argued that Mahajan's political transition from Congress to BJP should be seen as a liability for the opposition.

Sukhu also accused those engaging in 'horse-trading politics' of attempting to undermine the elected government through manipulative tactics, asserting that the people of Himachal Pradesh are aware of such efforts.

In addition, Sukhu announced plans for the state government to reclaim the Dhaulasidh Hydroelectric Project from SJVN, committing approximately ₹800 crore to ensure the protection of Himachal Pradesh's interests.

He affirmed that his administration would not compromise on the state's rights.

These remarks from Nadaun signify a further intensification of the political clash between the Congress-led government and the BJP, with Sukhu attacking the opposition's leadership, internal conflicts, and political strategies while also highlighting support from senior BJP leaders.
