Security Measures Intensified in Delhi

Officials reported on Saturday that a high-security alert was activated in Delhi due to a false bomb threat claiming that the historic Red Fort would be destroyed. The Mumbai police control room first received this alarming call, and recognizing the seriousness of the threat to the iconic monument, they promptly informed the Delhi police control room. In response to the alert, the North District Police in Delhi initiated a thorough security check and verification process.

Investigation into the False Threat

Senior officials disclosed that the Mumbai police control room received a call threatening the Red Fort's destruction. This information was shared with the Delhi police control room, leading to an investigation by the North District Police, which ultimately determined that the call was a hoax. Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation to trace the source of the call and apprehend the individual responsible.

Similar Incidents Prompting Increased Vigilance

This incident follows a similar false threat received earlier this month at a high-security establishment. On July 3, Bengaluru police detained an individual from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested by Delhi police for allegedly sending a bomb threat email to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters. The email, received on July 2, warned of an imminent explosion at the ISRO facility located on New BEL Road. Police and bomb disposal teams conducted a thorough investigation but found no suspicious items.

Identifying the Source of the Threat

After a technical analysis and digital tracking by a Special Investigation Team, the sender of the threatening email was traced to Ghaziabad. Police inquiries and medical examinations revealed that the individual was suffering from mental health issues. The electronic device used to send the threatening email has been confiscated, and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law.
