High-Level Review Meeting on NEET UG Re-Examination Preparations
Central Education Minister Leads Review Meeting
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Education, state governments, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and higher education institutions. The primary focus of this meeting was to assess the preparations for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21.
Present at the meeting were Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Vineet Joshi, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, and Abhishek Singh, Director General of the NTA.
Emphasis on Integrity and Transparency
During the meeting, Minister Pradhan highlighted the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the examination process. He instructed all relevant officials to remain vigilant and fully prepared.
The minister urged the officials to ensure that necessary arrangements are in place for conducting the re-examination in a fair and transparent manner.
Coordination Across All Levels
Stressing the significance of coordination at all levels, the minister mentioned that officials appointed by the ministry would visit all states to coordinate activities related to the re-examination process. They will report to a command center chaired by the DG of the NTA.
He also instructed the nodal officers appointed by state governments to ensure that students receive all necessary facilities, allowing them to take the re-examination in a stress-free environment.
Ensuring Comfort for Students
Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, stated that students taking the examination should feel completely at ease. He emphasized the need for essential facilities, such as seating arrangements before the exam and access to drinking water.
Vineet Joshi, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, noted that the time leading up to the re-examination date is crucial. He stressed the need for active coordination, timely communication of instructions, and strict adherence to all established rules.
