High Alert Issued in Delhi and Uttarakhand Amid Threat of Khalistani Terror Attacks
Security Measures Heightened Following Terror Threat
In light of intelligence regarding potential terrorist activities by Khalistani extremists, authorities have declared a high alert in both Delhi and Uttarakhand. The warning indicates that these terrorists may target significant temples in the region. In addition to religious sites, government buildings, railway stations, and police establishments have also been identified as possible targets. This alert was prompted by a suspicious email that mentioned various temples, government offices, and political figures as potential threats. Security agencies are taking the contents of this email very seriously.
Increased Vigilance by Law Enforcement
Following the alert, police forces in Uttarakhand, along with intelligence agencies and Delhi police, have intensified security measures and increased surveillance at sensitive locations. The Delhi police have initiated an investigation to trace the source and authenticity of the email. Security agencies are currently assessing the credibility of the threat. Officials have not yet confirmed the nature or immediacy of the threat, and investigations are ongoing. Precautionary measures remain in place across both states as authorities maintain a vigilant stance.
Arrest of Woman Linked to Pakistani Terror Group
This alert comes shortly after the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended a woman named Babita Dhakad, also known as Khadija. She is accused of maintaining contact with members of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization, Jaish-e-Mohammed. The suspect, originally from Gangapur City, was residing in Jaipur when she was detained based on intelligence regarding her connections with anti-national elements. Initial investigations of her mobile phone revealed that she was using two SIM cards and a Facebook account that contained objectionable content and links to foreign profiles. Authorities noted that her friend list included profiles displaying flags, propaganda related to Jaish-e-Mohammed, and images of armed terrorists. Further inquiries indicated that she was in contact with several Pakistani and other foreign numbers via WhatsApp. Sources suggest that some of these Pakistani contacts may be linked to terrorist operatives. During questioning, the accused reportedly stated that she converted to Islam following instructions from a mufti based in Pakistan and that her handlers were planning to send her to Pakistan.
