Hera Pheri 3 Faces Legal Challenges as Paresh Rawal Exits
Legal Troubles for Hera Pheri 3
The beloved Bollywood franchise, Hera Pheri 3, is currently embroiled in legal issues following the unexpected departure of Paresh Rawal, who has been a key figure in the series as Babu Bhaiya. Rawal is facing a legal notice demanding Rs 25 crore from Akshay Kumar's production company, Cape of Good Films, due to his abrupt exit from the film.
Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, confirmed that Rawal has not yet replied to the legal notice issued earlier this month. He was reportedly given a week to settle the damages. Tidke stated, “There will be serious legal repercussions. This situation has undoubtedly harmed the franchise. We have informed him of the potential legal consequences, including expenses incurred for the cast, crew, senior actors, logistics, and trailer production.”
Tidke elaborated that approximately three and a half minutes of the film had already been filmed, along with a promotional trailer. Contracts were signed, funds were allocated, and schedules were established. “Contracts were finalized for the trailer shoot, and a portion of the film had been filmed. Recently, we received a notice from Paresh ji indicating he no longer wishes to be part of the project, which has shocked everyone involved,” she added.
While it remains uncertain whether Rawal will return to the film, Tidke's comments suggest there may still be a chance for reconciliation. “There is reputational damage for the committed actors and the franchise, and the audience is understandably disappointed. We hope for a resolution, but we are currently dealing with legal challenges,” she remarked.
Previously, Parinam Law Associates confirmed that Rawal had publicly committed to the film on January 30, 2025, and formalized his agreement by signing a term sheet. According to reports, “Mr. Rawal publicly acknowledged his involvement in the film on January 30, 2025, through a post on his official X.com account. He further solidified his commitment by signing a Term Sheet on March 27, 2025, for which he received a partial payment of Rs 11,00,000/-.”
