Intensified Search Operations in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu: On Monday, security forces initiated search operations in various forward locations along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in the Samba and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This action was prompted by reports of suspected Pakistani drones spotted overnight, according to officials.

The drone activity was detected by vigilant army personnel in Nandpur, close to the IB in Samba, and in Tarkundi-Saaj, near the LoC in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri, officials reported.

In response, both regions were placed under increased surveillance, and the Army, with support from police and other security agencies, commenced search operations at dawn to verify that no narcotics or weapons had been dropped by the suspected drones.

As of the latest updates, the searches were ongoing, with no recoveries or arrests reported thus far.

This incident is part of a broader trend, as there has been a significant uptick in drone activity in these forward areas over the past week.
