According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several states in India are likely to experience heavy rainfall over the next 72 hours. In the southern state of Telangana, significant to very heavy rain is anticipated starting Wednesday. An official press release indicated that Telangana's Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, has instructed officials to implement all necessary safety measures to prevent loss of life and property during the heavy rains. He emphasized the importance of restricting vehicle movement on bridges, canals, waterfalls, and low-lying areas that may be flooded. Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh, the ongoing monsoon has severely impacted public infrastructure, resulting in a tragic death toll of 240. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) reported that in the last 24 hours, 330 roads, 198 electricity distribution transformers (DTR), and 141 water supply schemes have been disrupted.
