This landslide has obstructed a section of the main highway to Kedarnath, causing a partial halt to vehicular movement. At Munkhatiya, near Gaurikund, a large amount of soil, stones, and boulders have fallen onto the road, completely blocking the highway. Statement from Disaster Management Officer

Nandan Singh Rajwar, the disaster management officer, stated, "The road at Munkhatiya is indeed closed, but JCB machines are actively working there. We are making every effort to reopen this route for vehicles as soon as possible."
