In response to the ongoing hunger strike by prominent activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been protesting for 23 days against exam paper leaks and demanding reforms in the education system, Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi has released a recent medical bulletin. A joint team of doctors from the hospital and AIIMS is monitoring his health continuously.
The bulletin indicates that while his blood sugar levels remain low, his overall health is stable. The latest health update from the hospital on Monday stated that Wangchuk's essential medical parameters are stable, although continuous monitoring is necessary to avoid any complications.
Recent Medical Bulletin Released
According to the health update from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) and Safdarjung Hospital, Wangchuk is responding well to treatment, and his condition is being closely observed around the clock.
The bulletin also noted that despite his low blood sugar levels, improvements in other blood-related parameters have been observed following the administration of ORS and potassium syrup.

Medical professionals have reported that Wangchuk is recovering from mild to moderate dehydration. He urged the government and Delhi police to allow students to present their grievances in front of Parliament, stating, "I appeal to the government and police to resolve this issue by allowing students to voice their complaints in front of Parliament today or tomorrow." He also expressed hope that accountability in the education system would be established, emphasizing the need for the education minister to be held accountable.

Wangchuk's hunger strike coincides with nationwide protests regarding allegations of exam paper leaks. On Monday, thousands of students and supporters participated in a 'Chalo Parliament' march, demanding accountability for the alleged paper leaks and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. During the protests, clashes occurred between demonstrators and Delhi police, leading to multiple cases being registered and heightened security in central Delhi.
