Interest Calculation for ₹1,00,000 Deposit For instance, if you invest ₹1,00,000 in an FD for 2 years at a 6.45% interest rate (for regular citizens):
- Simple interest (before compounding): approximately ₹12,900 (₹6,450 per year × 2)
- However, since the bank typically compounds quarterly, the maturity amount could be around ₹1,13,500+, resulting in total interest of approximately ₹13,500. For senior citizens at 6.95%, the total interest could exceed ₹14,500.
(Note: For precise calculations, use HDFC Bank's FD calculator, as TDS and compounding can affect the final amount.)
This increase provides customers with an opportunity for better returns on secure investments, especially amid market fluctuations. HDFC Bank aims to attract customers by raising rates on select tenures. For more details, visit the bank's official website or contact your nearest branch.
