Haryana Woman Allegedly Murders Three Daughters Due to Jealousy
Shocking Crimes Unveiled in Haryana
A 32-year-old woman from Haryana has reportedly killed three of her daughters over the past two years, driven by a growing hatred for their beauty. To avoid suspicion, she also took the life of her three-year-old son, as revealed by police on Wednesday. The case came to light when the Panipat police investigated the death of a six-year-old girl earlier this week, identifying the suspect as Poonam.
According to law enforcement, the woman employed the same method for each murder—drowning the children in a tub or tank filled with water. Bhupender Singh, the Superintendent of Police in Panipat, stated that the accused appears to be mentally unstable and targeted a relative during a family wedding.
All three victims were related to the woman, with two being six years old and one nine. Prior to the recent murder, the families of the deceased had believed the girls' deaths were accidental and had conducted their funerals. During questioning, the suspect disclosed details about the other killings.
The Superintendent informed reporters that in 2023, she had also murdered two children, including her son, in Bhawar, and another girl in Sivah in August of the same year. He noted that she has another child.
When asked about her motives, the accused reportedly expressed a deep-seated hatred for beautiful girls, stating that she feared they might grow up to be more attractive than her. Singh mentioned that the woman, who married in 2019 in Bhawar village, began exhibiting such behavior after her marriage.
The Superintendent added that the woman confessed to killing her son, Shubham, out of fear that her family would become suspicious. Authorities have alerted the relevant police stations regarding this case.
