Draft Voter List Published for Haryana's 90 Assembly Seats

Chandigarh, August 1: After completing the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, Haryana has published the draft voter list for all 90 assembly constituencies. An official statement released on Friday indicated that 20,629 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distributed enumeration forms to over 2.06 crore voters. As of July 24, a total of 1,72,72,627 voters had submitted their enumeration forms out of 2,06,55,929 registered voters.

This reflects significant participation from voters during the enumeration phase of the SIR. The process identified 24.13 lakh voters who had permanently relocated, were absent, or fell into other categories. Additionally, 7.66 lakh individuals were reported deceased, while 2.04 lakh voters were found registered at multiple locations.

The Election Commission stated that voters whose names were not included in the draft list for any reason can apply to have their names added by submitting Form-6 along with a prescribed declaration during the claims and objections period, which runs from July 31 to August 30. It was clarified that voters registered at multiple locations will have their names listed at only one location. The resolution of claims and objections will take place from July 31 to September 28.

The final voter list is set to be published on October 3. The statement emphasized that the SIR process in Haryana aims to ensure maximum public participation, complete inclusion of all eligible voters, and transparency at every stage. The success of this initiative is attributed to the coordinated efforts of District Election Officers (DEOs) across all 23 districts, 90 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 1,594 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 2,244 BLO supervisors, and the 20,629 BLOs stationed at polling stations.

Volunteers also contributed to this campaign, along with representatives from recognized political parties, including their district presidents, who actively participated. A total of 36,998 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) were appointed by political parties.

On Friday, a meeting was held at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana with representatives from national and state-level political parties. During this meeting, they were informed about the timeline for claims and objections, and copies of the draft voter list were provided to the attendees.
