Haryana Government Declares Hansi as a New District
Hansi Officially Becomes a District
The Haryana government has issued a notification designating Hansi as a separate district, bringing the total number of districts in the state to 23. In its announcement, the government stated that it is exercising powers granted under Section 5 of the Haryana Land Revenue Act of 1887 and Section 5 of the Registration Act of 1908. This change involves altering the boundaries of Hisar district and modifying the number of sub-divisions to create a new district named Hansi by merging the Hansi and Narnaund sub-divisions.
Online Land Registration Process Enhanced
Meanwhile, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the land registration process across all tehsils in the state is now fully online, significantly reducing the chances of corruption. Buyers can apply for registration from the comfort of their homes. Tehsildars are required to complete registrations within a specified timeframe. If they fail to do so, they must provide a written explanation to the government. Unsatisfactory responses may lead to disciplinary actions, with responsibilities being transferred to a senior official.
Delhi's Revenue Districts Restructured
Earlier, the Delhi cabinet approved a historic proposal to reorganize the existing 11 revenue districts into 13 new ones, which will be fully integrated with the 12 Municipal Corporation of Delhi zones, NDMC, and the Delhi Cantonment Board. According to a press release from the revenue department of the Delhi government, the national capital will now have 13 districts: Southeast, Old Delhi, North, New Delhi, Central, Central North, Southwest, Outer North, Northwest, Northeast, East, South, and West. This initiative aims to resolve long-standing jurisdictional issues between revenue districts and MCD zones, increasing the number of sub-divisions from 33 to 39 and the number of sub-registrar offices from 22 to 39.
