Constable Detained for Suspected Homicide
A constable from Haryana has been apprehended for allegedly strangling his live-in partner at a rented apartment in Sohna, as reported by local authorities on Friday.
The victim was also identified as the wife of the suspect's brother-in-law. During interrogation, the accused, identified as Ravinder from Mahendragarh district, confessed to the crime.
According to police officials, the accused revealed that the woman he was living with had been in contact with several individuals and had recently gone out with them.
Upon her return, an argument ensued between them, leading to the alleged murder, where he reportedly used a towel to strangle her. The victim, named Sangeeta, was the widow of a deceased soldier from Jhunjhunu, who passed away two years ago.
Since then, she had been residing with her relative Ravinder in a rented flat at HCB Sports Ville Society in Sohna. The incident reportedly took place around 10:30 PM on July 24, after which the suspect fled to Madhya Pradesh and then to Jaipur.
The Sohna crime branch team arrested him on Thursday along the Palwal Road. Sangeeta's brother, Narendra, filed a complaint against Ravinder, which led to the registration of a First Information Report at the City Sohna police station.
