Punjab's Aspirations for a Double-Engine Government
On Tuesday, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that the people of Punjab are eager to establish a double-engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a press conference, he highlighted the benefits of the central government's welfare schemes reaching the citizens. Saini noted that residents of Punjab are observing the various initiatives being implemented in Haryana under Modi's guidance, which are providing direct advantages. He expressed confidence that this time, under Modi's leadership, the lotus will bloom in Punjab as well.
Key Decisions from the NCR Planning Board Meeting
Additionally, CM Saini addressed the 42nd meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board, where significant decisions regarding regional development were made. The meeting confirmed that there would be no alterations to the NCR area. Discussions also included the 2041 regional plan for the NCR, for which a sub-committee was established to finalize details. This sub-committee will consider inputs from both central and state officials and is expected to submit its report by August 15.
Saini further mentioned that the next NCR Planning Board meeting is scheduled for December. Proposals have been solicited from states for the development of four new greenfield cities, referred to as Namoh Cities, alongside the RRTS project. He shared on social media that the meeting focused on enhancing coordination, connectivity, and accelerating regional development.
Collaboration Among States Discussed
In his post on social media, Saini noted his participation in the 42nd meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), chaired by Union Minister Manohar Lal in New Delhi. The meeting facilitated a constructive and detailed dialogue among representatives from Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, focusing on improving coordination, strengthening regional connectivity, and expediting development projects, along with other critical issues related to the NCR.
