Harmanpreet Kaur Honored with Padma Shri

On Monday, Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded the Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu during a Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.


This recognition comes after a remarkable year for Kaur and the Indian women's cricket team. In 2025, she led India to its first-ever ICC Women's Cricket World Cup victory on home turf, defeating South Africa in the final match in Navi Mumbai. This achievement made her the first Indian captain to secure the Women's World Cup and only the second Indian captain overall, following MS Dhoni, to win a World Cup on home soil.


Career Statistics of Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur has an impressive record in international cricket, having played 164 One Day Internationals (ODIs) where she scored 4,541 runs at an average of 37.22, which includes 7 centuries and 24 half-centuries. In T20 Internationals, she has accumulated 3,991 runs across 195 matches, with one century and 16 fifties. Additionally, Kaur has participated in 7 Test matches, scoring 230 runs at an average of 23.00, including one half-century.
