Historic Achievement for Harmanpreet Kaur
In a remarkable achievement, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has made history by surpassing former captain Mithali Raj to become the highest run scorer for India in the Women's T20 World Cup. This milestone was reached during the T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan on Sunday in Birmingham.

Kaur's Key Performance
Harmanpreet Kaur came to bat at a challenging time when India was struggling at 18/2. She played a vital role in stabilizing the innings, scoring 36 runs off 35 balls, including four boundaries. Kaur then formed a significant partnership of 91 runs off 63 balls with Smriti Mandhana for the third wicket, which was crucial in shifting the momentum of the game.
India Sets a Challenging Target
Thanks to Kaur's efforts, along with a solid fifty from Smriti Mandhana and a late surge from Richa Ghosh, India posted a total of 170 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs against Pakistan.
Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 2 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Sadia Iqbal also took two wickets but conceded 41 runs, while Rameen Shamim and Tasmia Rubab each claimed one wicket.
