He has filed a petition requesting the reinstatement of his protection, questioning the basis and reasons behind the sudden removal of his security detail.

Incident of Attack and 'Traitor' Graffiti

In his petition, Harbhajan Singh highlighted a serious incident where a mob attempted to attack outside his residence, leaving the word 'traitor' scrawled on his wall. He has urged the court to take stringent action against those responsible for this incident. Following his recent switch from the Aam Aadmi Party to the Bharatiya Janata Party, discussions regarding his security have intensified.

Court's Inquiry into Government's Decision

During the hearing, the High Court issued notices to both the Punjab and central governments, demanding explanations. However, on April 24, he departed from the party alongside Raghav Chadha and other members, joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
