The Gwalior Cheetahs have officially announced their lineup for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup. The team boasts the presence of IPL-winning captain Rajat Patidar, alongside promising fast bowlers such as Akash Singh Raghuwanshi and Mangesh Yadav, enhancing the team's pace attack.

Team Owner's Confidence

Madhav Singhania, representing Gwalior Cheetahs and affiliated with JKC Sports, expressed his enthusiasm for having Rajat Patidar on the team. He stated, "Rajat's experience as an IPL-winning captain highlights his leadership skills. Our squad is well-balanced, combining seasoned players with exciting young talent, which boosts our confidence for the season ahead. We are optimistic about our ability to play positively throughout the tournament."

MPL 2026 Tournament Expansion

As per a recent announcement from Gwalior Cheetahs, the team will kick off their campaign against the Ujjain Falcons at Holkar Stadium in Indore on June 3. The 2026 edition of MPL is set to be the largest yet, featuring 10 men's teams and five women's franchises. New additions to the men's tournament include Malwa Stallions, Ujjain Falcons, and Royal Nimar Eagles, joining the defending champions Bhopal Leopards, along with Bundelkhand Bulls, Chambal Ghariyals, Gwalior Cheetahs, Indore Pink Panthers, Jabalpur Royal Lions, and Rewa Jaguars. The women's league has also expanded, with Gwalior Shernis and Royal Nimar Eagles entering the competition alongside Bhopal Wolves, Bundelkhand Bulls, and Chambal Ghariyals.
