Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run 7.0 Event

On Sunday, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre in Guwahati organized the Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run 7.0. This event is part of a nationwide initiative running from October 2 to October 31, 2026, under the theme 'Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat'.

The primary goal of this campaign is to encourage physical fitness while raising awareness about cleanliness and environmental stewardship. By merging fitness with the message of 'Swachhata', the initiative motivates citizens to embrace healthier lifestyles and contribute to a cleaner and more hygienic environment. Participants not only engage in the run but also promote the significance of cleanliness, reinforcing the vision of a healthier and cleaner India.

Participation in the Cleanliness Drive

DK Mittal, the Executive Director of the SAI Regional Centre in Guwahati, shared that approximately 300 individuals, including school students, officials, athletes, and coaches, took part in a cleanliness drive held at the centre on Gandhi Jayanti as part of the 'Swachhata Abhiyan'.

He stated, 'On Gandhi Jayanti, a 'Swachhata Abhiyan' is conducted nationwide. This campaign begins on October 2, and in keeping with that tradition, we initiated our own cleanliness drive here. 'Swachhata' signifies 'Swachh Bharat', 'Swasth Bharat', and 'Viksit Bharat'. Just as the Prime Minister launched the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' a decade ago, we organized a small event today at SAI Guwahati to continue that legacy. We are pleased that around 300 school children, officials, athletes, and coaches participated in this initiative.'
